Music

This is my fourth year teaching Music at Taylor. Through our music program, I hope students learn skills that are not specific to music, but are sometimes best learned through music and the arts, such as the creative process, improvisation, cooperation, and time management. Outside of school I sing in a choir and a cover band and teach a PreK music program. It is wonderful to be part of the Taylor community and I am excited for the year ahead!

I am super excited to join the Taylor community! I was raised in Arlington and am a product of the APS system (Long Branch, Thomas Jefferson, W-L). I received my Bachelor of Music in Instrumental Education from James Madison University, where I had the amazing opportunity to perform in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade with the Marching Royal Dukes! After college, I returned to APS as a long term substitute for band at TJMS, and then I was the Orchestra Director at Kenmore Middle School and Campbell Elementary School, before ending up at Taylor. I love to perform almost as much as I love sharing my love of performance with students! Outside of school I like to attend Nats games, build Lego sets (15 and counting!), and spend time with my kitten, Toby.
