STEAM

Hopes & Dreams for Taylor Students: That students in all classes at all grade levels will have the opportunity to be curious and creative, solve problems, think critically and foster collaboration and communication skills.  That all students will be inspired to figure out their passions and grow in their interest to pursue new and exciting endeavors.

The purpose of Taylor’s STEAM program is to foster Independent Global Thinkers who are prepared for a 21st century world.

STEAM is:  Using your knowledge of Science, Math, and Creativity (Arts) to Engineer (problem solve) and create Technologies.

At Taylor we are preparing our students for the future by practicing and infusing the 4 C’s throughout our school.

The 4 Cs include:

  • Collaboration
  • Communication
  • Critical Thinking and
  • Creativity

Starting in pre-k, students learn that STEAM is all about solving problems and asking and answering questions. Students use their 4 C’s along with mindfulness and productive struggle to engage in solving problems and being curious. STEAM education focuses on the process of learning.
