Congratulations to Taylor’s teacher of the year and support staff member of the year, Jules Walker and Porscha Adams.
Jules Walker has been a teacher at Taylor since 2014 when she started as a 2nd grade teacher, then transitioned to a 3rd grade teacher, and then to her current role as a K-5 math interventionist.
But Walker goes way back at Taylor having been a proud Taylor Tiger as a student herself at this school. The favorite part of her job is hearing and seeing “aha” moments that surface during math conversations and problem solving and observing students’ confidence as mathematicians grow. “It’s just so cool!” says Walker.
Porscha Adams is a kindergarten assistant here at Taylor. Adams has been with APS and Taylor for 12 years starting as a special education assistant and then with the kindergarten team. Her favorite part of her job is having the opportunity to make a positive impact on students’ lives by fostering their learning, seeing them grow, and connecting with them on a personal level.
