Rebecca K. Morrison

“The Blue Dress” is the debut novel by Rebecca Morrison, former Taylor parent and DMV resident. Morrison returns to Taylor, this time to talk about her book based on her childhood as an Iranian immigrant trying to fit into her homeland while conforming to her family’s expectations of beauty.

The book follows Yasmin, an Iranian American girl, as she navigates relationships with her mother, best friend and with her own body image.  Described as “unflinching and ultimately uplifting”, this middle-grade novel is great for fans of Jasmine Warga and “Starfish.”

Books can be ordered online here or purchased at the Taylor Book Fair, Sept. 28 – Oct. 2.

Books purchased at the book fair will be held at the library for signing.
