Ann Heidig is retiring
If you attended or worked at Taylor during the past 40 years, it’s a good bet that you know the name Ann Heidig.
At the end of the 2025-26 school year, after 40 years, Ann will retire. Friends, colleagues, and former students will celebrate her remarkable tenure at the school and recognize her for the impact she’s had on generations of Taylor families and staff.
Known for her devotion to her students, love of teaching, sense of humor, and her practice for gifting each of her students with one of her handmade sock monkeys, Ann has touched the lives of more than a thousand Taylor children in her classrooms and countless others.
Starting fresh out of college in 1986, Ann grew up at Taylor. This is where she worked when she got her first car, got engaged, married, raised her two boys and cherished four of her beloved family dogs.
Ann spent the majority of her career as a third grade teacher and taught kindergarten the past three years. Over the years she’s seen the teaching profession evolve from the analog days of the 80s to the digital revolution that transformed the profession and helped facilitate virtual classrooms during the pandemic.
She will be missed here at Taylor and we wish her all the best with her new life adventures!
