Meet the Taylor FLES Teachers

Señor Pardo – Señor Pardo is the Kindergarten and 1st grade FLES Teacher this school year. He is from Long Island, New York and attended Long Island University for his undergraduate studies and New York Institute of Technology for his graduate program. During college, he studied extensively in Seville, Spain and Florence, Italy. Before joining the Taylor team, Mr. Pardo taught Spanish and Italian at both the middle and high school level. He is excited to continue to work with the students and families of Taylor this school year.

 

Señora Cruz-Thaker – María Cruz-Thaker is the Spanish teacher for 2nd and 5th grade this year. She is half Venezuelan and half Spanish. She did her undergraduate in Early Childhood Education at the Metropolitana University in Caracas, Venezuela and her graduate studies in Foreign Language Education from Salamanca University, Salamanca, Spain and Business Administration at Strayer University in Virginia. She taught FLES in Loudoun Public Schools and has worked in numerous nonprofits in the Washington, D.C. area before joining the Taylor Team. She is looking forward to continuing her work with the students and families of the Taylor community.

 

Señorita Lamar – Señorita Lamar is the 3rd and 4th grade FLES Teacher. She is from Waldorf, Maryland and attended the University of Maryland for her undergraduate and graduate studies. She moved to Alexandria, Virginia five months ago and left her middle school teaching job in Prince George’s County Schools to join Taylor. Señorita Lamar is very excited to be part of the Taylor team. In her spare time, she loves going for walks and watching T.V. with her Great Dane, Charlie.  She looks forward to working with you all!
