Dr. Megan Lynch, Principal
Dr. Lynch brings nearly two decades of experience as a dedicated, student-centered educational leader. Throughout her career, Dr. Lynch has focused on advancing instructional excellence and supporting multilingual learners, fostering inclusive and high-achieving school communities.
Most recently, Dr. Lynch served as Assistant Principal at Nottingham Elementary School where she played a vital role in overseeing daily school operations, fostering a positive and inclusive school culture, and aligning school initiatives with the division’s strategic plan. Prior to that, she was the English Learner Lead Teacher at Kenmore Middle School, where she led instructional improvements for English learners, contributed to master scheduling, and collaborated with George Mason University on innovative projects that enhanced outcomes for both pre-service teachers and English Learner students.
Dr. Lynch began her career as an ESOL teacher at Osbourn Park High School, where she co-taught Advanced Placement courses, mentored students through the college admissions process, and provided professional development for staff.
Dr. Lynch holds a Ph.D. in Education Leadership and Policy from George Mason University, an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction for Foreign Language Education from the University of Virginia, and a B.S. in Secondary Education from Indiana University.
Dr. Lynch brings a strong commitment to equity, collaboration, and high-quality instruction to her new role as Principal of Taylor Elementary School.
Caitlin Sherman, Assistant Principal
Caitlin Sherman is the Assistant Principal at Taylor Elementary School, where she supports a dynamic learning community. Through her experience, Caitlin brings expertise in dual language immersion, special education, and instructional leadership. She is committed to fostering inclusive, equitable environments where all students can thrive.
Ms. Sherman holds a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from George Mason University and a Master of Arts in Early Childhood Special Education from The George Washington University. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degrees in Journalism and Spanish Studies from the University of Minnesota–Twin Cities. Her academic journey reflects a lifelong dedication to learning and the belief in the transformative power of education.
Ms. Sherman has served in a variety of roles within Arlington Public Schools, including as a Special Education Assistant, Special Education Teacher, Student Support Coordinator, and now Assistant Principal. These roles have given her an extensive understanding of student needs, instructional leadership, and the importance of inclusive school communities. She has led initiatives in special education, dual language immersion, and student support. She has also served as a mentor, evaluator, and facilitator of professional learning.
Caitlin Sherman brings a student-centered approach to every aspect of her leadership. She remains committed to fostering a comprehensive, high-achieving environment where both students and staff can thrive.
